Is Pill Reminder free?
Yes. Every reminder feature is free, with no ads and no limit on how many medications you track. An optional one-time upgrade unlocks PDF exports and caregiver alerts.
Will the reminder go off if my phone is silent?
You choose. Each medication can use a standard notification or a full-screen alarm that overrides Do Not Disturb — useful for critical doses. The alarm repeats until you confirm or snooze it.
Does the medication reminder work without internet?
Completely. Your schedule, history, and alarms live on the device, so reminders fire in airplane mode, in a basement, or with no signal. Internet is only needed if you turn on caregiver alerts.
Can I track complex medication schedules?
Yes — every-N-hours dosing, specific weekdays, cycles like 21-on/7-off, tapering courses, and as-needed medications with a daily maximum are all supported in one timeline.
Where is my health data stored?
On your phone. There is no account to create and nothing is uploaded to a server by default. You can export or delete everything at any time.
Will it remind me before my prescription runs out?
Yes. Enter the quantity you have on hand and Pill Reminder counts down as you confirm doses, warning you days in advance so you can request a repeat prescription before the bottle is empty.
Can I share my medication history with my doctor?
Yes. Export the last 30, 60 or 90 days as a PDF showing taken, late and skipped doses. Bringing that to an appointment is far more useful than trying to recall your routine from memory.
Why do my medication reminders stop working on Android?
Almost always battery optimisation suspending the app in the background. Exempt Pill Reminder from battery optimisation in your system settings and grant it the exact-alarm permission — the app walks you through both during setup.
Can I get alerts when a family member misses a dose?
Yes. Caregiver alerts notify a nominated contact when a critical dose goes unconfirmed, without sharing your full medication history. It is opt-in and can be limited to specific medications.
Is there an iPhone version of Pill Reminder?
Not yet. Pill Reminder is Android-only today and available free on Google Play.
